Booking & Cancellation Policy

for Sal e Luz Beach Estate

1. Booking Your Stay

Thank you for choosing Sal e Luz Beach Estate, a private luxury beachfront retreat in Praia de Barra, Inhambane, Mozambique.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our two exclusive villas — Villa de Luz (sleeps 8 guests) and Villa de Sal (sleeps 4 guests).

To secure your booking, please review the following terms that apply to all reservations made directly with us.

2. Rates and Inclusions

Our accommodation is charged at USD 400 per guest per night.
Rates are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) and include:

  • Full-board accommodation (three gourmet meals per day)
  • Selected local beverages (water, local beer, and wine)
  • Daily cleaning and evening turndown service
  • Complimentary laundry service
  • Two 60-minute massages per person during a 7-night stay
  • Airport transfers between Inhambane Airport and the estate
  • Access to all on-site amenities, including infinity pools, the gym, and private beach facilities

Not included in the rate:

  • Premium alcoholic beverages and imported wines
  • Additional massages, manicures, or spa treatments
  • Off-site excursions or external activities unless stated

3. Deposits and Payments

To confirm your booking:

  • A 50% deposit of the total booking amount is required at the time of confirmation.
  • The remaining 50% balance is due 14 days before your scheduled arrival date.

Bookings made within 14 days of arrival require full payment upfront.

Your reservation will only be secured once proof of payment has been received and confirmed by our team.

4. Payment Methods

Payments can be made via:

  • Electronic bank transfer (EFT) in USD, or
  • Approved online payment method, as communicated by our reservations team.

Please ensure that all bank or transaction charges are covered by the payer so that the full invoiced amount is received.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that travel plans may change, and we strive to be as accommodating as possible.

However, due to the exclusive nature of our estate, the following cancellation terms apply:

5.1. Deposit Policy

  • The 50% deposit is non-refundable.

5.2. Balance Payment

  • If a booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival, any remaining balance already paid will be retained in full.

5.3. Date Changes

  • If guests are unable to travel on their booked dates, the booking may be moved once to an alternative date within 12 months of the original reservation, subject to availability.
  • Any rate differences applicable to the new booking period will apply.

  • No refunds will be issued for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures.

6. Travel and Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests take out comprehensive travel insurance covering:

  • Trip cancellations or delays
  • Medical emergencies
  • Lost or damaged personal belongings

Sal e Luz Beach Estate cannot be held responsible for losses arising from unforeseen circumstances such as flight disruptions, border closures, illness, or adverse weather conditions.

7. Force Majeure

In cases of unavoidable events beyond our control — such as extreme weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions — we will work with you to reschedule your stay at no penalty, subject to availability.

8. Check-In and Check-Out

  • Check-in time: 14:00 (2:00 PM)
  • Check-out time: 10:00 (10:00 AM)

Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged upon request and availability.
